Lynton Orrett Achieves Referral Order for Youth in Southend Beach Incident Involving Firearm and Bladed Article.

Lynton Orrett represented a 17-year-old at Basildon Crown Court in connection with the widely reported gun and knife battle between two groups on Southend seafront in May 2024. The young person pleaded guilty to violent disorder and possession of a machete. Lynton successfully argued for the case to be remitted back to the Youth Court so that the young person could be given a referral order.
