James Manning appeared in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) earlier this year, led by Richard Thomas KC (of Doughty Street Chambers). The appeal against conviction related to the admissibility of material suggesting that the appellant had been convicted in a foreign court of an offence of dishonesty, whether she was entitled to give evidence asserting that she was a person of good character, and whether she was entitled to a full good character direction.
