Criminal Defence Experience:
The mainstay of Hugh’s practice is criminal defence work across a wide range of crimes such as murder and serious violence, robbery, weapons and drugs. Feedback indicates that he manages difficult clients well, combining strong advocacy skills with good client management.
He is also retained by a number of rail companies in connection with appellate court matters.
Hugh worked in business publishing for 17 years before being called to the bar having started out as a business journalist. He originally trained as an accountant before taking a masters degree in business administration at Europe’s foremost London Business School. He first thought of a career at the Bar when at University a computer suggested it might be for him. Not wishing to rush into anything he attended BPP Law school 20 years later.
Away from work, music and travel are squeezed in around family commitments.
